Our Story

SeaStar was founded by Raymond J. O'Neill, son of the inventor Raymond J. O'Neill Sr.

After Hurricane Ian destroyed coastlines causing 161 fatalities, Raymond was inspired to go back to his fathers library of designs in hopes of finding a viable solution to coastal storms and floods.

In his father's library, Raymond discovered  designs for a recurved sea wall with precast armored concrete, piles, and armor block footing.  He realized that while this model would be effective, it was not ideal.  After extensive research Raymond discovered that he could design a hollow core roto-molded recurved seawall, anchored with 2/8"- 16' piles also connected with a 6" H column, this block  would be just as effective as the concrete recurved wall. A portable and reusable solution to coastal erosion. Hurricane barrier, storm surge protection, ocean washup protecting man made dunes and flood control, beach accretion.

Engineered to protect.

Scour and Cliffing Prevention
FIG 32.png

In order to prevent scour and cliffing, placement of the units is critical. The armored units should be placed at the back shore with heavy duty filter fabric and 2- 8" grommet holes that will allow the piles to pass through and anchor the fabric. The FF will then be rolled out approx. 20 yards towards the near shore and trenched down approx. 4' to 6' and then cover back w beach sand. This will prevent scour and cliffing.

Applications

A comprehensive breakdown of our patented curved seawall's uses.

Hurricane Barrier

This diagram showing the seawall installed at the back shore anchored w 2- 8" steel piles Approx. 16'  and a column 10' (H) connecting the units together also notice the filter fabric under the units and extending outward. There will be a 8' unit as well as a 10' unit for hurricane protection.

Protection of Construction (?)

This diagram is showing the installation of the seawall installed prior to construction to protect the installation of  new structures, for example footings and foundations, boardwalks, upper road ways and promenade.

Oil Spill Prevention
Waterside Installation with Automated Vehicle

This diagram is showing a smaller unit 4' to 6' installed at the near shore only in the bay area's accompanied w oil rags to prevent oil from reaching the shore and mixing w sand and stones a nightmare to clean up.

This diagram is showing the installation of the seawall waterside from a floating barge equipped to install from the waters edge. There are areas all over the coast that are not accessible by land and prohibited from any form of permanent protection of the coast line. Seastar will conquer this problem.

This diagram is showing the installation landside w equipment and mobile truck installed at the backshore w filter fabric.

Landside Installation

Coastal Protection

Our patented curved geometry dissipates wave energy through controlled friction and turbulence, significantly reducing the impact force on coastal structures.

Wave Energy Dissipation

By redirecting water flow and minimizing scouring, our seawalls provide a robust defense against long-term coastal erosion and sediment loss.

Advanced Erosion Control

Engineered for maximum durability, our curved segments are designed to withstand extreme tidal forces and high-energy wave impacts for decades.
